Prince of Persia is a video game franchise created by Jordan Mechner, originally developed for the Apple II Computer. It was known for its state of art graphics. The franchise continues today, and most recently Disney released a movie Prince of Persia: Sands of Time.

A classic platform game which inspired a slurry of other platform games. The game is largely based on the Indiana Jones movie Raiders of the Lost Ark. Rick can jump and climb, and carry a limited amount of bombs and ammunition for his gun. The gun is mostly used to shoot enemies, although most traps that can kill Rick can also kill his enemies if used correctly. The bombs are generally used for puzzle solving, such as blowing out certain blocks. Rick is also armed with a pogo stick that allows him to paralyze enemies with split-second timing.
Unusually, many of the traps in Rick Dangerous have no visible warning, which means that a player’s initial progress through the game can be a nail-biting ordeal of trial and error, I should warn you that this can be frustrating

Q-bert
Q*bert is a orange creature with a large nose, who you move between squares by jumping. The aim is to avoid the bad guys and jump on all the squares.

Pong is one of the earliest arcade video games, and is a tennis sports game featuring simple two-dimensional graphics. It was originally released by Atari Incorporated (Atari) in 1972. Just keep the ball bouncing back and forth.
Snake is a classic arcade game, move the snake around, eating everything possible and avoid hitting walls and its tail.

Frogger was an arcade game introduced in 1981. It was developed by Konami. The object of the game is to direct frogs to their homes one by one. To do this, each frog must avoid cars while crossing a busy road and navigate a river full of hazards.

Duck Hunt was a video game developed and published by Nintendo, and was released in 1984 in Japan. The player shoot ducks on screen for points. The ducks appear one or two at a time, and the player is given three shots to shoot them down.
Tetris
One of my favorite games, Tetris is a puzzle video game originally designed and programmed by Alexey Pazhitnov in the Soviet Union. The Tetris game is a popular use of tetrominoes, the four element special case of polyominoes. The game (or one of its many variants) is available for nearly every video game console and computer operating system, as well as on devices such as graphing calculators, mobile phones, portable media players, PDAs, Network music players and even as an Easter egg on non-media products like oscilloscopes.
Jet Set Willy was released for the ZX Spectrum in 1984 and was one of the first platform games for the computer. Jet Set Willy has had a party and needs to tidy up his house to gain access to his bedroom to get some sleep.

I love the classic game of Asteroids. At the time it was released in 1979 it introduced vector graphics to the world. It was one of the most popular and influential games of all time and one of Atari’s first games. Asteroids uses vector graphics and a two-dimensional view that wraps around.

Xevious is a classic side scrolling shoot ‘em up. It was released by Namco in 1982 and was one of the first vertical scrolling shooters.
The original Xevious was the first arcade game to actually have a television commercial aired for it in the U.S. and Atari promoted the game with the slogan “Are you devious enough to beat Xevious?” and closed the commercial with a tag line branding it “the arcade game you can’t play at home.” It inspired numerous similar games.

Play as sonic or knuckles in one of the most famous video games ever, the alternative to Nintendo’s Super Mario, Sonic the Hedgehog was a classic game which became the number 1 game for Sega back in 1991.

The classic Puzzle Bobble arcade game is also known as Bust a Move. Puzzle bobble was released in 1994 and spawned numerous sequels and bought in the popular characters Bub and Bob from Bubble Bobble to shot the bubbles. The idea of the game is to shoot bubbles and connect 4 bubbles of the same color and burst them before the time runs out or before they reach the level at the bottom of the screen. Anyone who loves the game Tetris will love this game which in the most recent incarnations included two player versions. An awesome game with numerous clones, but the original is still the best.

International Karate Plus (Click on the image to play)
International Karate Plus (IK+) was released in 1988 and was a massive hit on the Commodore 64, Amiga and Atari ST. I remember playing it on the C64 against my brother. It was one of the best karate games because besides the two players, there was always a third cpu player to go up against. The graphics were great for the Commodore 64 which only had a small palette of colors available and the graphic detail was great; the water would ripple in the background and birds would fly across the sky. The detail reminded me of California Games.
